Well here we are, it's time to see who the 2009 NCHSAA Football State Champion is! We have some great matchups and listed below is each one and where and what time the game will be played.
4AA Final: Butler (14-0) vs. Jack Britt (15-0), N.C. State, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.: Only one 4A Mecklenburg County coach has won a state championship since 1981, Independence's Tom Knotts. Butler and coach Mike Newsome will try for a first state title. Jack Britt, still chasing its first championship, makes its third state championship appearance of the decade.
4A Final: Asheville Reynolds (13-2) vs.Harnett Central (15-0), Saturday, 5 p.m., N.C. State
3AA Final: Belmont South Point (13-2) vs. South Johnston (14-1), Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
3A Final: West Rowan (15-0) vs. Eastern Alamance (14-1), N.C. State, Saturday, 11:30 a.m.
2AA Final: Newton-Conover (14-1) vs. Reidsville (15-0), Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, Saturday, 11 a.m.
2A Final: Mountain Heritage (13-2) vs. Tarboro (14-1), Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
1AA Final: Albemarle (15-0) vs. Southwest Onslow (14-0), Wake Forest, Saturday, 4 p.m.
1A Final: Mount Airy (15-0) vs. Wallace Rose-Hill (13-2), Wake Forest, Saturday, noon.
